ULI Baltimore Announces New Leadership

 The Baltimore District Council of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) has appointed Daniel Pallace to the position of Chair, Sean D. Davis has been appointed Vice Chair for Mission Advancement, and Kelly Cantley is the new Treasurer. They will serve for a three-year term.

The mission of the Urban Land Institute is to provide leadership in the responsible use of land and in creating and sustaining thriving communities worldwide.

Daniel Pallace, Director of Construction Services for Merritt Properties assumes the responsibilities as Chair from the outgoing Chair, Caroline G. Moore, a partner with Ekistics Capital Partners. Ms. Moore will remain on the Advisory Board and provide additional leadership as the new Chair of the Governance Committee.

Dan is a state registered professional engineer and as the new Chair of ULI Baltimore will be responsible for overall strategic leadership, direction of management of ULI Baltimore's Staff and Contractors, and represent ULI Baltimore at major programs and other community meetings, retreats, and conventions.

Dan has worked with Merritt Properties, a Baltimore based locally owned real estate development firm, for more than 15 years and oversees Merritt's development and construction activities. He is a graduate of the Johns Hopkins University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering and has completed the Advanced Management Development Program in Real Estate at the Harvard University Graduate School of Design.

Sean D. Davis, RLA, is a Principal with Morris Ritchie & Associates (MRA) and will serve as the Vice Chair for Mission Advancement - a newly created position within the leadership of ULI Global. In this position, Sean will serve as the link between ULI Global and the Baltimore District Council and ensure that ULI practices, policies and programs are integrated into the District Council's activities and outreach.

Serving as a Principal for MRA, Sean is a landscape architect and joined the firm in 2002 from LDR International and earned a law degree from the University of Baltimore. For more than 30 years MRA has provided planning, design and construction phase services for a wide variety of project types including office, commercial, retail, industrial, institutional, residential, recreational, and government. Today the firm has more than 160 professional and support personnel working in 12 offices in Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Virginia.

Kelly Cantley, is Director of Business Development for Turner Construction and has been appointed as the new Treasurer for ULI Baltimore. In this role she will monitor the financial health of the District Council and help to prepare the annual budget.


Kelly has been an engineer with Turner Construction since 2001. Her duties have ranged from project management to her current role in business development. Prior to joining Turner, Kelly graduated from the US Naval Academy and served as an Officer in the Naval Civil Engineer Corps. She holds an MBA from the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School. In addition to her involvement with ULI, Kelly's community service and professional activities include the Society of American Military Engineers, the Greater Baltimore Committee Leadership Baltimore classes and the ACE Mentoring program, whose mission is to motivate and provide opportunity to high school students pursuing careers in the Construction Industry.
