Yerman Witman Gaines and Conklin (YWGC) said Wednesday that it has joined the Prudential Homesale Family of Companies. The new company is Prudential Homesale YWGC Realty.
Employees at the company were reportedly notified at 3 p.m. on Wednesday.
Prudential Homesale Services Realty Group is a real estate company serving South Central and Southeastern PA, including York, Reading, Lancaster and Harrisburg. It previously had four homesale companies, according to its website. YWGC has become the fifth.
Sources also say Prudential Homesale was looking to expand into the Maryland region and probably saw the acquisition of YWGC as an easier way to become established in the area.
YWGC has closed its Bel Air office, which it opened in June. At the time, the company said it was looking to hire 60 agents for that location.

The company has also closed its Severn Square, Ft. Meade and McHenry Row offices, but William Yerman said the company hopes to maintain its Realtors from those offices. The McHenry Row office will be used to grow the company's law office, which was not part of the merger. The company's Title Services company remains independent as well.

According to the website for the new company, Prudential Homesale YWGC Realty still has a Baltimore City office, a Westminster office and three Baltimore County offices.
