McCormick and Company, Inc. (NYSE:MKC) will return to downtown Baltimore this summer after nearly 25 years with a retail destination at Haborplace & The Gallery.

McCormick World of Flavors will open on the first floor of the Light Street pavilion at Harborplace. The location is steps away from the site of the McCormick Plant and Headquarters that stood at 414 Light Street from 1920 to 1989, which was known for bringing the aroma of cinnamon, vanilla and nutmeg to the streets of Baltimore and throughout the harbor. The company is now based in Sparks, MD.

The 3,800-plus square-foot retail center will showcase the McCormick product range with sections focusing on cooking, baking and grilling. The store will feature cooking demonstrations where McCormick's own chefs and celebrity chefs will display their culinary magic using McCormick flavors. There will be gift packages and products available for purchase related to McCormick brands like Grill Mates, Lawry's, Zatarain's and, of course, Old Bay.

"I look forward to purchasing the first can of Old Bay on opening day," said Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake. "McCormick is an iconic Baltimore brand and a great source of pride for our city and region."

McCormick & Company, Inc. has more than $3 billion in annual sales. The Company manufactures, markets and distributes spices, seasoning mixes, condiments and other flavorful products to the entire food industry - retail outlets, food manufacturers and foodservice businesses.

"This will be a wonderful new attraction for the many visitors we see annually," said Christopher Schardt, senior general manager, Harborplace & The Gallery. "McCormick and Harborplace are two names that are synonymous with Baltimore."

Harborplace & The Gallery is owned and managed by General Growth Properties.
